Article: FIRE SAFETY TIPS FOR HALLOWEEN

NEWARK, N.J., Oct. 29 -- The city of Newark issued the following news release:

Mayor Cory A. Booker, the Municipal Council, Fire Director David Giordano and Fire Chief Michael Lalor reminded Newark residents that as the spookiest day of the year approaches and the City prepares for numerous Halloween parades, there are safety precautions that should be taken to prevent fire and injury from Halloween costumes made of flammable material and holiday decorations that can easily ignite if they come into contact with candles or lit jack-o'-lanterns.
