Article: DETROIT COMES TOGETHER FOR SUCCESSFUL ANGELS' NIGHT

DETROIT, Nov. 2 -- The city of Detroit issued the following news release:

Mayor Dave Bing today credited the efforts of Detroit Fire, Homeland Security, Police and other municipal departments, and tens of thousands of volunteers for a successful three-night Angels' Night weekend, which resulted in a 12-percent decrease in the number of fires from last year's campaign.

The fire total includes the counting of rekindled fires and out-on-arrival fires under a new reporting system. Previously such fires were not counted.
