For several years now I have been involved in what some call an unrealistic, idealistic and naive endeavour. I, along with a dedicated and diverse group, am working to establish a progressive institution of higher education - a university unlike any other. We are the New University Cooperative (NUC). Although I am overwhelmed by the magnitude of the work in setting up a new institution, I am also energized every time one of our initiatives is realized. After you read this article, I hope that you will be as excited by this project as I am and that you will consider joining us in this timely and desperately needed initiative.
