ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 4 -- Kenneth F. Defreitas and Thomas A. Farbizio, both of Patterson, N.Y., Roman Janer of Englewood, Colo., Georgia Hitzke of Boston, and Anthony Pellegrino of New Fairfield, Conn., have developed a mammography system. The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,609,806 on Oct. 27.
The patent has been assigned to Hologic Inc., Bedford, Mass.
According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A mammographic imaging system is optimized for use with a single fixed size flat panel digital image receptor.
