Article: Patent No. 7,608,233 Issued on Oct. 27, Assigned to Sandia for Calcium Borohydride Direct Synthesis (California Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 4 -- Eric H. Majzoub of Pleasanton, Calif., and Ewa Carin Ellinor Ronnebro of Dublin, Calif., have developed a direct synthesis of calcium borohydride. The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,608,233 on Oct. 27.

The patent has been assigned to Sandia Corp., Livermore, Calif.

According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method is disclosed for directly preparing an alkaline earth metal borohydride, i.e. Ca(BH), from the alkaline earth metal hydride and the alkaline earth metal boride. The borohydride thus prepared is doped with a small portion of a metal chloride catalyst compound, such as RuCl, TiCl, or a mixture of TiCland ...
