ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 4 -- Jinrui Shi and Hongyu Wang, both of Johnston, Iowa, have developed inositol polyphosphate kinase genes. The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,608,755 on Oct. 27.
The patent has been assigned to Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc., Johnston, Iowa.
According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "This invention relates to newly identified polynucleotides and polypeptides in the phytic acid biosynthetic pathway, variants and derivatives of same; methods for making the polynucleotides, polypeptides, variants, derivatives and antagonists.
