This past May I was fortunate enough to participate in the annual Music and the Moving Image (MaMI) conference at New York University. This is a conference series which, like the journal of the same name, is devoted to exploring relationships among "the entire universe of music and moving images (film, television, music videos, computer games, performance art, and web-based media)."1 At the latest MaMI conference, concepts of adaptation often arose.
