EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif., Nov. 4 -- The U.S. Air Force Edwards Air Force Base issued the following press release:

The American Indian and Alaskan Native Observance committee has several planned events for November to honor Native American Heritage.

In recognizing this heritage, the committee has researched different aspects of the Alaskan Native culture to share with Team Edwards.

According to anthropologists who have studied Native Americans, the first peoples in the Americas crossed from Siberia to North America over Beringia, a land bridge that once connected the two continents.
