BILLINGS, Mont., Oct. 26 -- The U.S. Department of Justice's Attorney's office for Montana issued the following press release:

Bill Mercer, United States Attorney for the District of Montana, announced today that during a federal court session in Great Falls, on October 26, 2009, before U.S. District Judge Sam E. Haddon, WESLEY DEAN WELLS, a 31-year-old resident of Browning, appeared for sentencing. WELLS was sentenced to a term of:

*Prison: 36 months

*Special Assessment: $100

*Restitution: $742,592.06

*Supervised Release: 3 years

WELLS was sentenced in connection with his guilty plea to assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
