ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 7 -- Michael C. Gianturco, New York has developed a device for manually controlling delivery rate of a hypodermic syringe. The inventor was issued U.S. Patent No. 7,611,495 on Nov. 3.

According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An injection retarder for mechanically/manually reducing the rate of delivery of a hand-held hypodermic syringe and a syringe having same are provided.
