Article: Patent No. 7,612,396 Issued on Nov. 3, Assigned to Seiko Epson for Semiconductor Device (Japanese Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 7 -- Yo Takeda and Yutaka Maruo, both of Sakata, Japan, and Susumu Inoue of Chino, Japan, have developed a semiconductor device. The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,612,396 on Nov. 3.

The patent has been assigned to Seiko Epson Corp., Japan.

According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A semiconductor device includes a semiconductor element that is set up on a semiconductor layer, a light shielding wall that is set up around the semiconductor element, a hole that is set up on the light shielding wall, and a wiring layer that is electrically connected to the semiconductor element and is drawn out through the hole to the outside ...
