Chris Hardie, local news editor of the La Crosse Tribune, on Monday was named publisher of the River Valley Newspaper Group Weekly Newspaper and Shopper Division.

The division is part of Lee Enterprises Inc. of Davenport, Iowa, parent company of the Tribune, and consists of the Viroqua Broadcaster, Westby Times, Tomah Journal and Tomah Monitor-Herald, the Coulee News in West Salem and the Melrose Chronicle. Hardie also will oversee the TriCounty Foxxy Shopper and multiple niche publications.

Hardie will continue to live in West Salem, but his office will be in Tomah.
