One reason Dublin-born Seamus Berkeley moved to Taos, NM, from Colorado three years ago was his desire to live in a community where he could find ethnically diverse models for his figurative paintings. He found that in Taos, a crossroads for Native Americans, Hispanics, Anglos, and people from other countries. As a workshop instructor at the Taos Institute of the Arts, he organized a portrait painting group that has met to paint live models every Saturday for nearly three years.
