Is Mark Emmert worth it?

Gordon Gee wakes up every morning feeling like he's "died and gone to heaven" since becoming chancellor of Vanderbilt University two years ago.

Why? Because Vanderbilt is a private university.

Gee (the "G" is hard) has experienced the public side of academia. He spent eight years as president of Ohio State University, the largest public university in the nation, and also led the University of Colorado and West Virginia University; both .public institutions.
