On matters of nutrition and health, new studies often contradict what we once thought we knew for sure. But that's not happening with vitamin C. It seems the many benefits of this potent antioxident have not been exaggerated. And now a group of European researchers have reported in the journal Lancet that vitamin C may even reduce our chances of premature death.

Nearly 20,000 men and women in the "European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition" were divided into groups based solely on their blood levels of vitamin C.
