The last time anyone wrote a book on multiple "headline" weather events in Ohio, Franklin D. Roosevelt was the president of the United States and the Allies had not yet landed on the Normandy beaches in France. There have been in-depth articles on specific weather elements that have given the how, why, and how much in a meteorological and climatological sense but nothing like the catalog of newsworthy events provided by the Schmidlins.
