No holiday table is complete without this Southern staple.
The Southern Living Foods staff has diverse opinions on what ingredients make the perfect sweet potato casserole. Ours was a two-fold discussion with as many thoughts about the consistency of the sweet potato mixture as the topping combinations.
In our search to find the perfect one, we tasted a parade of classic recipesseven to be exact. Our debates focused on texture, taste, and toppings. We discussed fresh versus canned sweet potatoes (fresh won, hands-down), and whether marshmallows, brown sugar, or pecans belonged on top.
