Noninvasive imaging techniques enhance cryosurgery as method for skin lesion removal
Paris - Modern imaging techniques have increasing value as adjunctive tools for improving cryosurgical management and follow-up of cancerous, precancerous, and benign skin lesions, William A. Abramovits, M.D., said at the World Congress of Dermatology.
"I would predict that a combination of new, noninvasive diagnostic techniques will come into clinical use to guide skin cancer surgery with cryotherapy, or with lasers, chemotherapy or immunotherapy in a way that those less-invasive techniques will rival Mohs chemosurgery as methods of choice for effective, tissue-- conserving surgical treatment.
