Weild Sees NASDAQ as the `Market of Choice' for Community Banks

At the NASDAQ Stock Market Inc., David Weild IV is Mr. Client Relations. One of two NASDAQ vice chairmen, he oversees the Corporate Client Group. His responsibilities include recruiting and retaining listed companies. He joined NASDAQ in 2001 after a Wall Street career that included 14 years with Prudential Securities.

Weild sees clear parallels between his role and the jobs of community bankers. "When you're running a community bank, one of the reasons you've excelled is through relentless focus on the customers in your locale," he said in a wide-ranging interview with Community Banker Editor Debra Cope. ...
