If, as Mallarme, wrote, "Everything in the world exists to end up in a book," then that book-with its vast, enfolded domain-would require another book to contain it. Like a matryoshka, one of those Russian nesting dolls that swallows whole its diminutive twins, Abelardo Morell's aptly titled volume of photographs is just such a book, one capacious enough to house its kindred. Indeed, the Morell photo on the cover makes plain this self-reflexive conceit-- a thumb-size miniature book sits poised like a dormer on the broad roof of a leatherbound portfolio-demonstrating ...
