Abstract
Borderline personality disorder (BPD) may be poorly understood by many members of the multi-agency, primary healthcare team. Recent studies reveal that BPD is also largely undiagnosed in the community. However, it is a serious disorder and, where it occurs in parents, it can have grave implications for the emotional and physical safety of any child.
