Japan: Toray to expand polyester filament operation in China

Toray Industries, Inc. has decided to expand its polyester filament production at Toray Fibers (Nantong) Co., Ltd. (TFNL) in Jiangsu, China, Toray's whollyowned subsidiary, in response to the growing demand for polyester filament in the country. The planned annual production volume from this project will total 20,000 tons. As a result of the expanded production, which is scheduled to come on stream at the beginning of 2004, TFNL will be able to increase its annual polyester filament production in China to 55,000 tons.
