Abstract: Consumption of low-fat products and reasons for their consumption by adults were studied. The effect of age, sex, race, marital status, education level, and eating style on the consumption of low-fat products also was assessed. Females were found to consume more low-fat products than males. Subjects under 25 and over 45 years of age used more low-fat products than did those between the ages of 25 and 45. Health and weight control were the main reasons subjects offered for using low-fat products;flavor and taste concerns were the top reasons given for not using them.
