Article: Netflix sees Santa Ana plant as linchpin

Los Gatos-based Netflix Inc.'s Santa Ana facility stands in contrast to the glamorous Hollywood movies that are the warehouse's staples.

Some 30 workers at the 10,000-square-foot plant process hundreds of thousands of DVDs each week from Southland subscribers to Netflix's Internet movie rental service. They also serve movie watchers in Nevada and Arizona.

The facility-opened about a year ago-is clean and efficient. But don't look for any dotcom trappings here. Netflix seems to one of the Internet era's ideas that clicked, though there are no bean bags, hallway scooters or foosball tables at its Santa Ana site. There's not even a Netflix sign on the building or a front office.
