Midlife and menopause: Uncharted territories for baby boomer women

Aging is increasingly being perceived as something one can control, delay, and even perhaps stop.

The baby boomer generation is now facing middle age. Every fifty seconds another fifty baby boomers celebrate their 50th birthday. To a large extent, this generation has rejected many of the images of middle and old age and sought to redefine these later life stages. Given their numbers, baby boomers clearly have the political power and social clout to do so. However, it is important to recognize that they also represent a huge consumer market.
