Allegra-D: Combination antihistamine and nasal decongestant for allergic rhinitis

The antihistamine and decongestant combination of fexofenadine HCl 60 mg and pseudoephedrine HCI 120 mg (Allegra-D Extended-Release Tablets, Hoechst Marion Roussel) has gained FDA approval for the relief of symptoms associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis in adults and children at least 12 years of age. According to labeling, symptoms treated effectively include sneezing, rhinorrhea, itchy nose/palate/throat, itchy/watery/ red eyes, and nasal congestion.
