Article: Japan: Increasing air of crisis at dyeing firms

Sluggish market conditions continue in the textile industry. Dyeing firms are no exception and they suffered from the decline in order booking volume.

According to the Japan Textile Finishers' Association (JTFA), the processing volume in January-- October 2002 fell by 5.6% for export and dipped by 11.2% for domestic demand, respectively. The total processing volume showed a double-digit drop of 10.3% to 2.9 billion sq. meters.
