WESTBY, Wis. - The 80th annual Snowflake ski jumping tournament this weekend near Westby is drawing a few thousand people to the area and boosting sales at businesses such as the Westby House bed and breakfast and restaurant.
"We're booked up for Friday and Saturday," Marie Cimino said last week. She and her husband, Mike, own the Westby House, which has nine guest rooms. "Of the nine rooms, five are booked because of the tournament," she said. "They're spectators from Milwaukee, Madison and the Twin Cities. The other four rooms are booked because it's Valentine's weekend."
The Westby House also is open for lunch and dinner. "It helps our dinner business quite a bit," Cimino said of the ski ...
