Since 1919, the D.H. Thompson Co. (Hampshire, IL) has manufactured flytying -vises, tools, and related accessories for fishermen. The company has used five cam-operated screw machines to make its products since the mid-80s.
Paul Jacobsen, president and owner of D.H. Thompson, appreciated that his company needed to upgrade its production technology. After reviewing the machining processes at D.H. Thompson, Jacobsen decided to acquire a CNC turning center.
