New Jersey has a lot to offer businesses and this is reflected in the fact that it's home to numerous Fortune 500 companies' headquarters, as well as multitudes of other businesses. A state of merely 8,722 square miles, New Jersey manages to house ports, two international airports and a skilled workforce. In fact, 86.5 percent of the population has a high school diploma or higher and there are 50-plus colleges and universities scattered throughout the state. This helps provide for a talented labor pool. Nonetheless, companies often say they wish the state was more business friendly, with lower taxes.
