OSHA rolls out cooperative compliance program

After reviewing the results of several state pilot programs, OSHA unveiled its new Cooperative Compliance Program. The program targets businesses considered to have the worst safety records. Modeled after the Maine 200 Program, it gives the selected businesses the option either to partner with OSHA or face a 100% certainty that a full inspection will be conducted. Targeted facilities number between 12,000 and 13,000 in the 29 states where OSHA has either partial or full authorization to enforce safety and health regulations.
