Dan Banfe, 32, likes to keep his business life grounded in family ties and his business grounded in the good earth.
As CEO of Banfe Products in Barrington, Banfe's goal is to sell ever more premium soils, mulches, peat moss, stone and Christmas decorations to the nearly 1,000 independent home and garden centers in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland that make up his customer base.
Banfe does that in part by building close ties to his customers through perks like annual cruises. At the end of each trip "you have all these new friends," he says.
