Lawmakers defend coal plant proposal

HELENA-In what lawmakers labeled a "call for jobs," Republicans and Democrats alle protested an appeal filed against a proposed coal plant near Roundup.

"Time after time, when we get an industrial project going on in this state, certain special interest groups decide we don't want that because that is a violation of our clean and healthy environment clause in the constitution," said Rep. Alan Olson, R-Roundup, at a press conference Tuesday. "Well, the constitution also guarantees you the right to make a living."
