Article: Coast Magazine Repositions to Take on Orange Coast BSMG Pulling Back from OC; AdAge Honors Two Locals

Corona del Mar-based Coast magazine is switching from a bimonthly to a slick monthly publication, and is going to compete head-to-head with Orange Coast magazine of Costa Mesa.

Jim Wood, who co-publishes Coast along with his wife, Nikki, said they nearly sold the magazine earlier this year, which this paper's OC Insider reported at the time, despite Wood's denial. He didn't disclose the potential buyer, only saying the deal "evaporated." It nonetheless provided the catalyst for change that the couple had been thinking about.
