Korea and China seek joint anti-drug drive

South Korea sent envoys to China in an effort to develop a cooperative agreement for countering narcotics trafficking.

Korea's Supreme Public Prosecutor's Office said the trafficking is going both ways-Chinese operations export opium and derivatives to Korea while Korean gangsters ship ecstasy and other synthetic drugs into China.

Authorities attribute the expanding demand for illegal stimulants to liberalization policies and an emerging youth culture in both countries.
