OLIVE BRANCH - It has been something of a roller coaster ride for the folks at Alcoa CSI-Olive Branch. After enacting cost-cutting measures and making the operation as lean as possible, the plant was contacted late last year by parent Alcoa Corporation and told two of its machines and their production were being moved to a foreign facility. Employees were let go and morale sunk. But now the facility is getting three new machines that will give the plant capabilities it has never possessed before over its near 20-year history, and the mood is on the rebound.
"I see it as a brand new day for us. I can't tell you how excited I am," said Charles Smiley. CSI-Olive Branch plant manager.
