SCOTTSDALE. - An update on the many faces of facial atopic dermatitis was presented by Harry L. Roth, M.D., at the 40th annual meeting of the Noah Worcester Dermatological Society.
A review of the latest literature on facial atopic dermatitis and an evaluation of cases seen by Dr. Roth revealed a wide spectrum of causative factors, including contact airborne allergens, ultraviolet light, and other environmental factors, as well as steroid use.
Dr. Roth, who practices in Daly City, Calif., and is a clinical professor of dermatology at the University of California-San Francisco, introduced several examples. One case involved a red-faced atopic who weaned himself off desonide and treated ...
