Single dose, which remains effective up to 24 hours, is seen as boon for contact lens-wearers
Wailea, HI-Olopatadine 0.2% (Patanol, Alcon) significantly reduced itching and redness for 24 hours, according to the results of a study presented at the annual meeting of the Western Society of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology.
Mark Abelson, MD, reported the results from a study his research group conducted using the Conjunctival Allergen Challenge (CAC) model to evaluate this new product (olopatadine 0.2%), which is a new formulation of currently available olopatadine 0.1% featuring twice the amount of active ingredient.
