The strategies, preparation, and insights learned from a Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) survey of the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS)deemed by a JCAHO physician surveyor as "one of the best medication use interviews in the country"-were shared by Larry Siegel, MAS, associate director of pharmacy.
"Our 1996 survey was the first since the Joint Commission implemented its Agenda for Change," said Mr. Siegel.
