FORT WORTH, TEXAS -- There is no question the laser hair removal business is hot right now. However, new practitioners could be burned if they do not research expensive equipment purchases and their tools turn obsolete the minute out of the box.
"The technology of hair removal is changing so rapidly and unpredictably," said Fort Worth dermatologist James McCarty, M.D., assistant clinical professor of dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. "The difficulty is compounded by the expense of the machines and the cost of marketing. A new machine may come out at any time, making your machine obsolete."
