The definition of race defined as African American is unclear. There is no genetic or generic description of race, and there is clearly phenotypic hetergenerity in the US population of African Americans. However, there may be a difference in lifestyle that may define African Americans as an ethnic group. There is growing evidence to suggest that African Americans consume a diet high in fat content or a diet preparations using fatty substances.l Recent data demonstrate a strong association between prostate cancer progression and high-fat diet.2 This article focuses on AfricanAmerican men as a ethnic/racial group in comparison to white males as a distinct population.
