SME Research Council calls for research conference proposals

The SME Research Council is calling on SME members to propose specific opportunities for convening research conferences that focus on mining-related topics. This sweeping initiative is being undertaken to better define problems, to exchange information about where current research is headed and to stimulate proposals and funding for new research projects.
The Research Council will review all preliminary proposals before forwarding its recommendations to the SME Board of Directors. As a co-sponsor, the council will help the conference organizing bodies secure funding from SME, the government and the private sector.
