What to include in ISO 9000 quality systems documentation
THERE IS A GREAT MISUNDERSTANDING OF what is required to document ISO 9000 Level III work instructions, and it is a waste of both time and three-ring binders.
Unfortunately, too many people wrongly believe that to be in compliance with ISO 9000, companies must provide written documentation of routine tasks.
Thinking that every stage of the production process must be recorded in procedure manuals has complicated the quality systems documentation process. Employees get bogged down describing each little step of already familiar operations. Hence, one finds page after page of stuff like: "Turn on the computer by pulling the toggle ...
