Article: Marriott opts to subcontract airport transportation shuttle service

After several months of review, the Marriott hotel at 75 So. West Temple, Salt Lake City, has subcontracted its airport shuttle service and begun charging guests for the ride.

"It's not so much the savings as we're not in the transportation business," said Robert Gaymer-Jones, general manager of the 510-room hotel.

Gaymer-Jones said he surveyed comparable hotels in 30 to 40 other cities regarding shuttle service before coming to the decision to subcontract and charge for transportation services.
