John Smith, rider of Pete Briggs' Lake Mortgage Kawasaki Pro Stock Bike, is expected to miss the remaining events on NHRA's 2003 schedule after suffering a concussion and fracturing his C-7 vertebra in a motocross accident near his Champlain, Minn., home. Smith was riding with his friend, Super Stock racer Michael Mans, when the accident occurred.
