Print providers continue to be surprised by the rapid advances in media for digital printing, which are keeping pace with and influencing the equally rapid advances in digital image quality. Just a few years ago, stock selection for digital color printing was limited to a few styles of bond and matte white papers. Today, creatives and print providers can choose from cover stocks with weights as great as 100 pounds, glossy finishes ranging from subdued silks to full gloss, textured stocks that include high-quality parchments, and a variety of synthetic substrates for specialized applications.
