Thousands of GATF/PIA members print materials specifically designed for direct mail pieces and many depend on direct mail printing for a sizable portion of their sales. GATF/PIA estimates that direct mail printing accounts for approximately $30 billion in printers' annual sales revenues or around half of the dollar volume of printing that ends up in the mail stream.
