Culinary gardens can be both functional and attractive. This one provides ingredients for many Southern Living recipes.
The Southern Living kitchens test more than 5,000 recipes each year. In order to make these recipes taste their very best, we often use fresh herbs. Sometimes herbs aren't available at the local grocery store, so we wanted to grow our own. That's why three years ago we started a small garden.
It began as a circular bed with a few herbs. Each year we expanded it. Now the garden is really more of a kitchen garden than an herb bed because we also grow a few vegetables and berries. Flowers and ornamental plants are tucked in to make it a delightful place to clip flavorful ...
