Article: Charleston's Trojan Steel relocating to Putnam County

CHARLESTON - Trojan Steel Co., a well-established steel fabrication business in the Charleston area, will soon relocate to Putnam County.

The 72-year-old custom steel fabrication company located on MacCorkle Avenue will move to an existing building in Black Betsy, near Poca, within the next 60 days.

The company has been a mainstay of the area economy since 1927 when it was founded by two local families - the Venables and Thayers.

Dave Wooddell, president and co-owner of Trojan, said the new building has room for expansion and the Kanawha River is more accessible in that area.
