This study focuses on factors that influence students throughout the college selection process, specifically Web utilization. To incorporate the findings into a context, theoretical models describing the broader college selection process and specific research regarding the use of the Web in the selection process were reviewed. Through survey responses from 400 high school juniors and seniors, the authors statistically analyzed original research regarding the type of information prospective students want on the Web. The authors also offer recommendations for the practitioner and draw relationships on how the research in this study expanded existing theoretical models in this area.
